Timesheeting Homepage

The main timesheeting page provides access to the most used features of the timesheeting system. The system works most successfully if staff use it every day as their main timekeeping record, which means the page functions as their personal homepage (remember that you can modify your timesheet). From here with one "click" staff can document their work, check back on their hours this week, add and remove items from their job list, and keep a To Do list.

The Timesheeting page is composed of 7 Sections

1 – Generic Navigation Bar

At the top of all pages, this navigation bar gives easy access to the rest of the system sections, and a quick link to the company internet site. How to add your own links is covered in "modifying your timesheet system"

2 – User and Date Information

Who the time sheet is for and active date. Time Sheet for <name>, <date: day dd/mm/yyyy>

The date shown here is the one that time will be added too.

Note - Please do not confuse the active date with the date displayed in the "change timesheet displayed" sub-section of section 4 - Customise Your Timesheet. If you want to change the active date you must change the date under Customise your Timesheet, and press the Change button.

3 – Things To-Do List

The Things To-Do List is a dropdown menu that has a list of tasks. These tasks can be edited at the bottom of the page (section 6 – Customise Your To-Do List).

This list initially appears empty, meaning that you have no tasks to do.

Note – The quote is taken from the message file /htdocs/message.

4 – Customise Your Timesheet

Add and remove jobs from your timesheet using "customise" from the Options menu. Or change the day you're adding time to by the other fields.

When you choose one of the items in the Options menu, you will be immediately directed to that page. However to change the active date you have to change the details and click the Change button.

The items under the Options menu are:

  1. Customise - use this to add and remove jobs from your timesheet.
  2. Today – shows a report of work done today.
  3. Current – shows a report on work done in the current pay period.
  4. Last Pay – shows a report on work done in the previous pay period.

Note - If you enter a Date and a Day, the Date will take precedence when you click the change button.

5 – Project/Jobs/Time

This section enables you to add/update the time spent on a project/job.

Click on the Job description to add time to it. When you have added some time, you can alter it by clicking on the hours, and then either modifying or deleting the entry.

6 – Customise Your To-Do List or someone else's

You can add or modify your own to do list, but you can only add to someone else's.

7 – Bottom Navigation Bar
